July started out with a BANG!! Sarah's big TEN birthday! She opened presents from family in the morning. She got to choose the menu for the entire day. Dad took off of work early so that just Mom and Sarah could go see the movie The Last Song.
The next day she had friends over for a "Get a Clue" birthday party. Her theme was Nancy Drew which included making notebooks, watching the movie and of course having her own mystery...who stole her birthday cake???? Those darn zhu zhu pets.
Happy Birthday Sarah!!!
Next, we celebrated Independence Day (the parade was on the 3rd) by going downtown to the Capitol to watch the parade. We felt lucky to have Sophie and Nonnie come visit us so we could celebrate together.
We ate lunch in front of the Capitol.
Cute Kids showing their pride in their country!
Later on in the afternoon we went on a hike with our cousins. Palmer and Caleb were also here for the weekend.
On the actual 4th of July, we went to church, had a BBQ at the Boettcher's and then went to Simplot Hill to watch the city fireworks.
The next weekend was jam-packed full of fun at The Smith Family reunion!!!
We ate lots of s'mores. Have you all tried the really BIG marshmellows? Andrew sure did!!
Andrew earned his Fishing Beltloop with Uncle Dave.
Aunt Dee cooked it up for him.
Mom showed him how to eat it......it wasn't really his favorite.
We watched silly skits.
We did a song.
We watched a puppet show.
We played in the creek!
I don't have pictures...but, we played a super fun Man vs. Wild game and went on an amazing survival hunt, ate TONS of really good food and LOVED being with our wonderful family! We wish the weekend could have been longer!! Thank you Aunt Dee and Uncle Dave for a FANTASTIC reunion!!!
Sarah participated in another swim meet....I forgot the camera and am waiting for a friend to email a picture of Sarah swimming. She did amazing...bringing home many ribbons as she swam in 6 events.
Andrew didn't get to compete as the night before the meet he jumped on something and cut his foot open. Big Bummer!
His coach gave him the best advice..."just keep swimming" and he did, so the next weekend he and Sarah competed in another swim meet. It was at our Hidden Springs pool. Sarah competed in 6 events and Andrew competed in 7. They did AWESOME!!!
Auntie Jayna, Uncle Ryan and Eliza came for a visit. We went swimming, played and went to the Discovery Center together. It was a fun time!
