We were about half way through the month of May, when I started to share with a friend about how busy our lives had been. Before I could complete my long list of activities, she shared how she loved that her kids got to have so many wonderful opportunities to create memories at the end of the year with their friends. I realized that she was right and instead of getting overwhelmed with all the field trips, class parties, picnics, etc. that I should embrace the chaos and enjoy!
So, here is a list of the fun each of our kiddos had in our Crazy Month of May.
Sarah: Young Women fundraising for camp, ran in a 5K with her dad, sang in numerous choir concerts, orchestra concert, girls on track, piano, orthodontist appointment, babysat for her parents, toured her new Junior High, performed in her last Elementary Music Program and went out to lunch with mom.
Andrew: Had two tournaments (one in Twin Falls and the other in Boise), several other soccer games, soccer practice, scouts, piano, Wagons Ho field trip (a HUGE highlight of fourth grade) and went out to lunch with mom.
Spencer: Art lessons, field trip to the Botanical Garden, a super fun activity every day spelling out the words SECOND GRADE (for example: "S" - sidewalk chalk, "E" -extra recess, "R" - root beer floats) and went out to lunch with mom.
(It's a portrait of his mom.)
Benjamin:End of preschool picnic, soccer practice, soccer games, end of season soccer party, play dates, attended choir concerts and music programs.
Levi: Helped dad shop and plant flowers, went and did everything that Mom did (except for jury duty) which made taking naps a little tricky.
Mom: lots of driving to the store and trying to remember everything that was going on with the kids. Amongst the craziness, I got picked to be on a jury that lasted five days. You can read about it
here on my friend's blog. I felt very much the same as Kim did in regards to the trial and the friends I made while serving on the jury.
Nathan and I portrayed Emma and Joseph Smith for our Relief Society Birthday Celebration.
The whole family: Great Outdoor Neighborhood Party (Andrew won the pie eating contest again), school carnival, went to McCall for Memorial Day Weekend(see previous post), two Master Degree Graduation Parties, pack meeting and had my sister and her family visit on her way to and from Oregon.
Crazy hair at our school carnival.
Had a neighborhood party and said good bye to one of our favorite neighbors, Patti who took a new job in Indiana.
Yes, it was a CRAZY month!!
