Last week, Sarah had her Living Museum at school. She had to do extensive research on a famous person who has made a difference. She "became" Annie Sullivan, by dressing like her, writing and memorizing a five minute narrative as if she was Annie, and had props and a set to help her feel like Annie. She was in her school gym for an entire day, saying her narrative over and over and over again for anyone who wanted to listen. She did a wonderful job being Annie Sullivan!
We borrowed a real braille typewriter (that Annie would have taught Helen how to write braille with) and a book in braille from the Commission for the Blind.
We also borrowed a water pump from a co-worker of Nathan's.
Her friends were...."Samuel Prescott...
...Daniel Boone....
...Ruth Benedict...
...Paul Newman...
...and her best friend, Helen Keller.

Thank you for letting me visit your living museum. If I was Helen, you are who I would want to teach me about my world. Looks like you did a great job.
How fun! I had no idea who Annie Sullivan even was, now I know. Great job Sarah!
What great ideas! Your kids are absolutely beautiful by the way!! Right now I'm a struggling college student, blogging about life on an EXTREMELY tight budget, but someday I hope to be as lucky as you! Great pictures!
